I can tell if a beat is good after the first five seconds. Then I'll get a song in my head, and I'll start creating right away, she adds. If I am sitting on my porch and play guitar, lyrics will come out and can be completed in less than thirty minutes. Niykee's pain from her past is a constant source of motivation as she grows as an author. Although I don't write literally about things that have been a part of my life, all the trauma of my childhood and losing my sister ends up getting pushed into my lyrics, she says. It influences my music and adds a greater significance, something I consider extremely important. I'd like to be able to listen to my songs in 20 years and still feel proud about my words.
