Firefly is Whedon his next major hit television series. It is likely that she left an impression on viewers, as this single episode was the catalyst for her being a celebrity. Summer Glau was very good in her role as the complicated of River Tam. The character of Summer Glau, Tam was compelled to take part in government-sponsored tests in order to prepare her to play the ideal assassin. Tam's control over her emotions was weakened in direct consequence. Glau demonstrated her fighting ability as well as her acting skills on Firefly. The fact that she was training to become an assassin allowed Glau to fully use her athletic skills. Summer Glau's classical training has made her a skilled ballerina. She's also trained in flamenco and tango, however a broken foot ended her dance career. Firefly was only a single season, but gained a passionate audience. Whedon came back to it several years later. In the meantime though, Summer Glau continued to get some quality work. She was seen on TV shows such as Cold Case and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
